On Monday, October 5, 2026, SÚRO, initiated the ETSON JSP Workshop, an event held annually within the European Technical Safety Organisations Network (ETSON) group, aimed at sharing experiences among junior scientists in the nuclear sector. This is the first time the event is being held in Prague.
The event was opened by SÚRO´s director Aleš Froňka, followed by an introduction of all the attending European nuclear technical support organisations (TSOs), namely France's ASNR, Lithuania's LEI, Germany's GRS, Ukraine's SSTC NRS, Belgium's Bel V, and the UK's RSD.
Over the following week, participants will exchange experiences through professional presentations, and the programme will be supplemented with lectures from invited experts from SÚRO, SÚJB, CTU in Prague, and ČNS. The program also includes visits to SÚRO labs, ÚJV Řež and CVŘ labs, and FZU CAS labs. In the following days, there will also be formal and informal gatherings to close down each day’s programme.
Jan Loskot and Jan Syblík from the Research and Analysis of Nuclear Safety Department took care of putting together the programme and hosting guests for the whole week. We are honoured to have the chance to host our international colleagues and are looking forward to a week full of exchanging experiences, networking, and shared activities.
